Count Erspell, the Elvish Mage,
Kui-Kui, the Human Noble Fighter,
Viggo, the Human Druid,
Dave, the Human Folk Hero Fighter,
& Eorlund Granitefella, the Dwarvish Cleric
After the party cleared out of the Orc’s den, Kui-Kui searched for any treasure. finding a chest under a pile of refuse, upon opening it he found it full of coins and a sword which let off a strange energy. Kui-Kui had stumbled upon the Sword of Vengeance, a magical weapon inhabited by a vengeful spirit. The allure of such a powerful weapon was too great for Kui-Kui, who threw away his trusty great axe in favour of his new sword. The remainder of the party seemed concerned about the sword effects, but Kui-Kui eased most of their worries, telling them he felt no strange effects from the sword.
The party headed back into town to look for more work to fund their rescue of Gundren, stopping by the Orchard, they spoke the retired adventurer that worked there. He told the group of some rumours about the dead rising up and adventurers being attacked up at the ruins of Old Owl Well. Wasting no time, the group headed for the ruins. On arrival, the group was meet by the strong smell of decay. But all they could see where bodies on the ground and a tent on the far side. Viggo tried to climb a rock to get a better vantage point, but once he walked by one of the bodies, it suddenly moving! Shambling to it’s feet, the zombie yelled, calling out, to which a horde of undead rose from the ground, the group was surrounded. Thinking quickly, Eorlund used his power to make the undead fear him, it worked for a few of them, but most still advanced on the group. Viggo took one out with his bow, for it to just get back up!
After a few minutes of what seemed like a hopeless fight, the zombies just stopped moving, as a Dark Elf emerged from the tent. Kui-Kui called out to the Drow and requested a parley. The elf agreed and told the zombies to stand down. Kui-Kui and Erspell talked with the Dark Elf know as Kost, who despite his necromancy, seemed to be a reasonable person, who said to the group he would move to a more secluded area to practice his arts as long as the group could clear out the area he had picked, which as luck would have it was the Wyvern Tor, the cave the group had recently cleared out.
Elated by this turn of events, Kost thanked the group and headed out to the Tor, telling the party they could help themselves to anything from his tent. Viggo didn’t need to be told twice and immediately stuffed Kost’s writing desk into his Bag of Holding.
Once the party had cleaned up the camp site, Viggo walked over to the well, looking down he saw it was too deep to see the bottom. Thinking it would be a great place to lose Kui-Kui’s cursed sword, he called over his brother. Kui-Kui refused to move though, thinking Viggo had planned to kill him, maybe the sword has corrupted his mind…
Dave lead the group to their next destination, Thundertree. Once there the group saw what a desolate place it had become, with ruined buildings and vegetation overgrown everywhere.
The party decided to split up to cover more ground.
Viggo & Dave:
The pair came across of pair of giant spider carcasses, on investigation they came to the conclusion the they had been killed by a dragon… recently
Mia & Eorlund:
Headed to the south of the town, towards a surprisingly intact looking house. Mia tried to pick the lock on the house, but the door opened, standing in front of the pair was an old druid. Quickly remembering what her aunt told her, Mia asked if he was Reidoth. The druid confirmed he was and asked what the two were doing in Thundertree. Mia told the druid that they where seeking information on Cragmaw Castle, and that her aunt had told her to seek him out. Reidoth was more than happy to give his friends niece any information he could, but also told her that they should leave the town immediately as it was not safe due to the ash zombies, cultists and a dragon that had taken residence.
Kui-Kui & Erspell:
The two entered a house, and were instantly set upon by a small horde of twig blights…
